If Palestine is to be free, then we all need to act. Though the on-the-ground struggle may seem far away, there is so much work to be done in our own communities that advances us towards a free Palestine.

One of the most important things we can do as a community in Lutruwita/Tasmania is to organise. We need our community to be one built upon relationships of solidarity and trust, so that when we mobilise in actions such as rallies and protest we can do so safely and in large numbers.

The power we build as a grassroots movement can be mobilised for many actions - for rallies, for boycotts, divestments, and sanctions, for direct and mutual aid, and also to shift the policies of the Australian Government. At times, the position of the Australian Government can be the difference between life and death, and so it is critical that we engage in this space.

Find your local MP based on where you live, and email and phone them explaining why their position on Israel’s genocide in Gaza needs to change.
