Spinach, briefly: A workshop on gardening in the commons
Community-organised workshop supporting the Visit Palestine Project Poster Exhibition.
Grace Gamage, a local (among other things) gardening legend, will cover the practicals of record keeping and relational databases while keeping spinach as the central thread, the history, the etymology, the politics of what gets flattened when a vegetable becomes a product.
Come along and grab a hot drink from the café and be prepared to share your favourite spinach dish.
Where: in the Reading Room at Providence Café - enter via the side door.
Reach out to the organisers at anarchistanchovy@proton.me if you'd like to register for the event but but are not in a position to purchase a ticket, no one will be turned away because of lack of funds (but you may be turned away if the venue's at capacity so register quick!)
The Visit Palestine Poster Exhibition
The Visit Palestine Project (Nipaluna Edition) is an exhibition of original Palestinian resistance posters from the 1970s to 1990s. The exhibition runs from 6 to 19 June at Providence Café in North Hobart. After spending time with these illustrations of Palestinian resistance; resilience born in the face of ongoing and historic genocide, dispossession and colonisation, the supporting workshops gives you a chance to direct your energy towards action.
There is another workshop being held as part of the exhibition: Arabic Calligraphy Workshop
