Palestine: Stories Across Borders
Where: Sawtooth ARI, Invermay
When: 2:00PM, April 18, 2026
Join Sawtooth ARI for an afternoon of conversation, storytelling, and shared food with me, Dr. Adel Yousif, as I share objects from Palestine that hold stories of lived experience, cultural memory, and an unbroken, living history.
Echoes of Resistance stands as a testament to the vitality and endurance of Palestinian culture. We are, and have always been, an integral part of humanity. Across faiths; Jewish, Christian, and Muslim, and across diverse ethnic communities including Arabs, Armenians, Kurds, Circassians, and Turkmen, we carry a cultural heritage that long predates the establishment of the State of Israel.
For centuries, we have lived, worked, created, and been laid to rest on the land of Palestine. This history is etched into our cities and villages, into our songs and dances, our national dress, and the everyday artefacts that speak to a continuous and rooted civilisation.
We affirm a simple but powerful truth: we and our culture are present, vibrant, and unyielding. We stand as a people who will endure, who will resist, and who will continue to assert our humanity in the face of colonisation, dispossession, racism, and apartheid.
This exhibition is not merely an artistic event; it is an act of cultural affirmation and a declaration that our spirit will outlast every attempt to erase it.
Please feel welcome to bring a plate to share, have a cup of tea, and spend time learning, listening, and being together.
