Palestine Calling: Roads to Justice

Where: Stanley Burbury Theatre, University of Tasmania, Sandy Bay OR ONLINE

When: 4:30PM, March 26, 2026

In this powerful forum, Dr Adel Yousif and Remah Naji share their insights about Palestine and experiences of being Palestinian during colonial occupation and oppression.

Dr Adel Yousif

Dr Adel Yousif is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Tasmania. Drawing on personal knowledge and reports from reputable non-governmental organizations, Adel will explore critical issues including human rights, justice, colonisation, and apartheid. He will draw parallels with the experiences of Aboriginal peoples in Australia, particularly in relation to historical and ongoing violence, genocide, and dispossession. Adel will provide personal insights into the experiences of Palestinians residing in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, aiming to give voice to those living under occupation and to foster a deeper understanding of the realities faced by marginalised communities.

Remah Naji

Remah Naji an education worker, a unionist, and a community organiser. Refusing to check her identity at the door, Remah embodies the revolutionary potential of unapologetic existence — against systems designed to exclude Palestinian women and marginalised others. A daughter of Palestinian refugees, Remah ran for the Greens in the Federal seat of Moreton in Queensland to amplify voices of marginalised communities on Brisbane’s southside. Beyond electoral calculations, Remah’s campaign disrupted settler-colonial frames, transforming public spaces into sites of creative resistance for migrants, communities and the Palestine solidarity movement.
