"Never Again" the Abomination of Genocide in Gaza

Tim McCormack is Professor of International Law at the UTAS Law School and former Special Adviser on War Crimes to the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague (2010-2024).

He completed his PhD on the Scope of the Right of Anticipatory Self-Defence and used the 1982 Israeli Bombing of the Iraqi Nuclear Reactor as his principal case study. In 1989 he was the inaugural Australian recipient of the Golda Meir Postdoctoral Fellowship to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and from 2011 to 2013 he served as an international observer on the Government of Israel's Turkel Commission of Inquiry into Israel's Mechanisms for Investigating Alleged War Crimes.

From 2009 to 2011 he advised World Vision Australia in relation to an unfounded allegation by Shurat HaDin - a right wing Israeli organisation - of diversion of funds to a terrorist organisation in Gaza and between 2016 and 2024 he advised World Vision International in relation to the Israeli trial of Mohammed el Halabi - a former WVI manager in Gaza charged with diversion of aid funds to Hamas.
